Stephen F. Lynch is a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Massachusetts' 8th district. Lynch was born in South Boston, Massachusetts in 1955. He served in the administration of the Ironworkers Local 7 union before winning election to the Massachusetts State Senate in 1994. In 2001, Lynch won a special election to fill the House seat left vacant by Congressman John Joseph Moakley's death. He has been reelected every two years since then by wide margins. Lynch sits on the Financial Services and Oversight & Government Reform committees.read less
