Sollie B. Norwood was born in 1947 and raised in Washington, D.C. He attended Howard University, graduating in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. After college, Norwood served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. After being honorably discharged from military service, Norwood worked for over 30 years as a human resources professional. He also owned several small businesses over the years. Norwood retired in 2011.read less
