Shelley B. Mayer earned her B.A. from the George Washington University in 1972 and her law degree from Georgetown Law School in 1975. She served as Deputy Counsel and Chief Counsel to the New York State Assembly Ways and Means Committee from 1983 to 1991. Mayer was elected to the State Assembly in 2016 to represent District 90 which covers portions of Westchester County. She owns a small business and has worked as an attorney for over three decades. Mayer served on the Yonkers City Council for two two-year terms from 2008 to 2013. She previously ran for the New York State Senate in 2012 and 2014.read less
