Rick W. Allen grew up working in his family's small business. He attended Augusta State University on a football scholarship. After college, Allen started a construction company. In 2014, Allen declared his candidacy for Georgia's 12th Congressional District. He defeated the incumbent in the Republican primary and went on to win the general election. Allen serves on the House Armed Services Committee, Education & Labor Committee, and Agriculture Committee.read less
