Richard M. Haggerty is the Democratic candidate for the New York State Assembly District 3. He was born and raised on Long Island. Haggerty attended Nassau Community College before earning his Juris Doctor from Touro College. He worked for the Nassau County District Attorney's Office as an assistant district attorney. Haggerty serves on the board of the Freeport Historical Museum and is a former board member of the Long Beach Latino Civic Association. He practices law, focusing on criminal defense and civil rights litigation.read less
