Regina Genell Young was born in Memphis, Tennessee on February 23, 1964. She graduated from the University of Memphis in 1987, and went on to earn a master's degree in public administration from the University of Tennessee in 1989. Young worked for the state of Tennessee for over 20 years, serving in various roles including Director of Constituent Services and Senior Policy Advisor. She also served on the board of directors for several non-profit organizations focused on education and healthcare access. In 2018, Young ran for the Tennessee House of Representatives unopposed in the Democratic primary for District 86. She lost in the general election to Republican incumbent Pat Marsh.read less
