Rae C. Cousins is from Leland Grove, Illinois. He attended Springfield High School and received his diploma. After graduation, he went on to Illinois College before transferring to Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1997. After college, Rae began working for the Department of Corrections as a youth supervisor at Illinois Youth Center in Harrisburg. He was then promoted to youth counselor in 1999. In 2001, he moved to the Illinois Department of Human Services as a child welfare specialist.read less
