Phil grew up in a small town in the Midwest. After high school, he attended the police academy and became an officer in his hometown. After serving for 15 years, Phil decided to run for county sheriff. His campaign focused on increasing training for deputies and strengthening ties with the community. He won the election by a narrow margin. As sheriff, Phil modernized the department's equipment and facilities. He also started a program to have deputies regularly meet with residents to hear their concerns. After two successful terms as county sheriff, Phil retired. He plans to spend his retirement years fishing and traveling with his wife.read less
