Peter B. Schmidt was born in Paterson, New Jersey. He received a B.A. degree in history and political science from Drew University in 1979. He was Vice President of LH Financial Services Corp. from 2003 to 2007. He served as Chairman of the Sussex County Municipal Utilities Authority. Schmidt and his wife Vicki have three children.
