Patty H. Kim grew up in a working-class neighborhood in Philadelphia. Her family owned small businesses including a corner store and a laundromat. She attended local public schools. Kim earned degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Temple Law School. She worked as an attorney at a nonprofit legal clinic representing domestic violence survivors and as an aide in the state House. In 2012, Kim was elected to the state House.read less
