Omeria Scott was born in Abbeville, Louisiana. She received her bachelor's degree in social science from Grambling State University and her master's degree in business administration from Cardinal Stritch University. Scott served as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from District 42 from 1996 to 2004. She was first elected in 1995. During her time in the Louisiana Legislature, Scott served as chair of the Labor Committee. She also served on the Appropriations, Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs, and Transportation Committees.read less
