Norman W. Sanderson was born in Robbinsville, North Carolina. He graduated from UNC Pembroke with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Sanderson worked as a District Sales Manager for a pharmaceutical company. In 2010, Sanderson was elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives. In 2012, he was elected to the North Carolina Senate representing District 2. Sanderson serves on several committees including Commerce, Insurance, Transportation, and Agriculture.
