Norman M. Needleman was appointed first selectman of Essex, Connecticut in 2003. Needleman served on the board of selectmen in Essex from 1991 to 2003. He also served on the board of finance from 1986 to 1991. Needleman represented the 33rd District in the Connecticut State Senate from 2019 to 2023.
