Michele Pena is running for State House in District 27. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas. She attended Del Mar College where she studied education. Pena has been a public school teacher in Corpus Christi for over 20 years. She teaches algebra at Mary Carroll High School. She serves on the school district's curriculum advisory council. Pena is married with two children. In 2019, she helped organize a teacher walkout to advocate for increased education funding from the state legislature. She hopes to continue that advocacy if elected to the Texas House.read less
