Melissa Hurtado is a Democratic member of the California State Senate, representing District 14. Hurtado was first elected to the chamber in 2018. She serves on several committees, including the Agriculture, Business and Economic Development and Corrections Committees. Prior to her election to the state Senate, Hurtado served as a Sanger City Councilmember from 2016 to 2018. Her professional experience includes working as an educational consultant and as a staff member for Congressman Jim Costa.
