Marvin L. Abney was born in Newport News, VA. He earned his B.A. degree in Government from the College of William & Mary in 1971. Abney served as member of the Newport News School Board from 1996 to 2000. He was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in November 2017. Abney is the owner and president of a janitorial supply company. He has been active with the Boys & Girls Club, the Jaycees, and the Peninsula Airport Commission. Abney lives in Newport News with his wife, Sharon. They have two adult children.read less
