Mana H. Abdi is running as a Democrat for District 109 in the Texas State House in the November 6, 2018 state legislative elections. Abdi earned her B.S. in mathematics and economics at the University of Texas at Austin in 2007. After graduation, Abdi worked in finance before shifting her focus to education and entrepreneurship. In 2014, Abdi co-founded Youth Rise Texas, an education non-profit that works to empower students in underserved communities across Texas through debate programs and speech mentorship. Abdi serves as the Executive Director of Youth Rise Texas. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Entrepreneurs for North Texas.read less
