Leanne Krueger Braneky was raised in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Swarthmore College and Villanova University School of Law. After working as a litigator, she served as executive director of the Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia. In 2014, Krueger Braneky ran for state representative in Pennsylvania's 161st House district. She defeated incumbent Republicans by 127 votes.
