Laurel M. Lee was appointed Florida Secretary of State by Governor Ron DeSantis in January 2019. Prior to her appointment, she served as Judge on Florida’s Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Court after being appointed by Governor Rick Scott in 2013. Secretary Lee serves on the State Canvassing Board, the Florida Capitol Complex Planning Commission and is a member of the Florida Elections Canvassing Commission. She also serves as a member of the Executive Board of State Council on Homelessness. Secretary Lee received her bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Florida. Prior to her judicial service, she worked at the law firm of Hill Ward Henderson in Tampa, focusing on business litigation, creditors’ rights, bankruptcy and commercial transactions.read less
