Biography
Lamont Bagby is a Democratic member of the Virginia State Senate representing District 14. Born on December 21, 1976, in Richmond, Virginia, he is married to Jevata Herman Bagby and has three adult children. A lifelong Virginian, Bagby has focused his legislative efforts on key issues including stopping the school-to-prison pipeline, affordable housing, criminal justice reform, voting rights, environmental justice, and consumer protections. Notable achievements include serving as chair of the Henrico County School Board in 2011 and receiving honorary doctoral degrees from Norfolk State University and Virginia Union University.
Education and Political Experience
- Education: B.S. in Business Education from Norfolk State University; M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.

- Henrico County School Board member , serving as chair in 2011.
