Kenyatte Hassell is a native of Norfolk, Virginia. He spent over 21 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring at the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After retiring from the Navy, Kenyatte worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a nuclear engineering tech for submarine reactors. In 2017, Kenyatte obtained a Master's in Public Administration from Old Dominion University. He has served on several City of Norfolk commissions and currently serves on the Board of Zoning Appeals. Kenyatte lives in Norfolk with his wife April and their four children.read less
