Juan Carlos Porras was born and raised in Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a degree in government in 2003. After college, Juan worked in the Texas House of Representatives before going to work for a public affairs firm. In 2014, he ran for Travis County Judge and narrowly lost in the Democratic primary. He works as a senior account executive at a marketing communications firm and lives in Austin with his wife and two daughters. Juan serves on the board of the Workers Defense Project, which advocates for construction workers.read less
