Joseph M. Giglio was born in Dunkirk, New York in 1950. He earned his B.A. degree from the State University College at Fredonia in political science in 1972. He was first elected to the New York State Assembly in a special election in May 2005 to fill the 147th Assembly District seat left vacant by the death of Assemblyman William Parment. He was re-elected in 2006 and serves on the Assembly Committee on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, Committee on Cities, Committee on Election Law, Committee on Governmental Employees, Committee on Racing and Wagering and the Committee on Transportation. Prior to his election, Assemblyman Giglio served as District Director to Congressman Jack Quinn from 1993-2005.read less
