Joseph F. Underwood serves the 9th congressional district of Illinois. He was first elected in 2013 after working at the Pentagon preparing and presenting military budgets. Prior to his time at the Pentagon, Underwood worked for a year at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He also worked for over four years in various roles for members of Congress, handling issues regarding the environment, veterans affairs, healthcare, transportation, and manufacturing. Underwood earned his undergraduate degree at Illinois State University and later received a master's degree in international relations at Georgetown University.read less
