ABOUT

John F. Kennedy was born on May 29, 1917, in Brookline, Massachusetts. He was the second of nine children in a prominent Irish-American family. Kennedy graduated from Harvard University in 1940 before serving in the Navy during World War II. A key figure in American politics, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 1946 and then to the Senate in 1952. His presidential campaign in 1960, marked by strong performances in debates and a charismatic presence, led to his election as the 35th President of the United States. Kennedy is remembered for his inspirational speeches, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the establishment of the Peace Corps. His presidency was tragically cut short when he was assassinated on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas, leaving a legacy of hope and change that continues to influence politics today.read less
