John D. Cherry, Jr. was born in Flint, Michigan. He graduated from New Mexico Military Institute and spent 21 years in the U.S. Air Force retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. Cherry spent another 21 years with Occidental Petroleum involved first in crude oil trading and later as an auditor and supply chain manager in Los Angeles, Houston & Bakersfield California. His work took him to the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. He also served a four year term on the Antelope Valley Healthcare District Board representing District 4.read less
