ABOUT

Joel McEntire was born and raised in Atoka, Oklahoma. After graduating Atoka High School as valedictorian in 2000, Joel attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University on both academic and rodeo scholarships. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2004 with a degree in finance. After college, Joel moved back to Atoka and became heavily involved in the family ranching operation while also substitute teaching. In 2006, Joel started his own contracting company building horse barns, fences and doing dirt work. He continues to run this small business today in between legislative sessions and campaigning. Joel currently lives outside of Atoka with his wife Shelby and their two children Kell and Riggin. He is serving his third term as the State Representative for House District 2.read less
