Jerry Allen Obermueller was born on August 29, 1960 in Brainerd, Minnesota. He received his BA from Concordia College, his Masters of Divinity from Luther Northwestern Seminary, and his Masters of Theological Studies from Harvard. He served as senior pastor at Lyndale United Church of Christ in Minneapolis for over two decades. Obermueller helped to transform Lyndale UCC into one of the largest, most diverse congregations in Minnesota. He sits on the boards of numerous Minneapolis organizations. In 2013, Obermueller announced his candidacy for Minnesota's 2nd congressional district. He supports universal health care, strengthening public education, immigration and LGBTQ rights. Obermueller and his wife Julie live in Minneapolis and have two adult children.read less
