Jehan A. Gordon-Booth's political career began when she was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives in 2008. She currently serves on several committees including Appropriations-Higher Education, Environment, Higher Education, Public Utilities, and State Government Administration. Gordon-Booth earned her Bachelor's degree in speech communication from Illinois State University in 1999. Prior to joining the Illinois General Assembly, she worked in state government administering youth employment programs. She has also served on the Illinois Task Force on the Condition of African American Men. Gordon-Booth and her husband live in Peoria and have two young sons.read less
