Jean Hunhoff was born in Yankton, South Dakota. She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education and Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, with an emphasis in Reading, from the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Jean taught elementary students in Yankton for over 30 years before being elected to the South Dakota House of Representatives in 2016. She currently serves on the House Education and State Affairs Committees. Jean and her husband Dean have been married over 40 years and have two adult children and five grandchildren.read less
