James Vernon Buchanan is a candidate for the Republican nomination to the U.S. Senate to represent Tennessee. He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1974 and grew up in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Buchanan holds a law degree and is currently an attorney in Nashville. He is campaigning on issues such as cutting government spending, lowering taxes, protecting Second Amendment rights, and preventing illegal immigration. If elected, Buchanan says he will work to repeal the Affordable Care Act. He also opposes abortion and plans to vote accordingly.read less
