James G. Townsend is a Republican member of the New Mexico House of Representatives, representing District 54. He was first elected to the chamber in 2016. Townsend is the owner and operator of Magdalena Livestock Auction. Townsend served in the New Mexico House in 1987-1988. He then served as Secretary of the New Mexico Livestock Board under Governor Gary Johnson (R) from 1995 to 2002.read less
