James A. Boyle graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1974 with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. He worked as a police officer before being elected Sheriff of Allegheny County. In 1995, Boyle was elected to Pennsylvania's House of Representatives where he served until 2019. He focused on issues like public safety, healthcare, senior services, and infrastructure investment. In 2018, Boyle was elected to serve as Pennsylvania Auditor General. He is the first Democrat elected to the position since 1992.read less
