Heather Ann Matson graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor's degree in journalism in 2001. She worked as a science and foreign correspondent at a public radio affiliate. Matson later earned a master's degree in public administration from Drake University. She worked for several nonprofits focusing on healthcare policy and child welfare issues. In 2017, Matson helped found a central Iowa chapter of Indivisible. She advocates for healthcare coverage, women's rights, workers' rights, protecting the environment, and creating economic growth.read less
