Gary S. Schaer was born and raised in Englewood, New Jersey. He attended Englewood Public Schools and graduated from Dwight Morrow High School in 1973. Gary graduated Rutgers College in 1976 with a B.A. in political science. In 1979, Gary graduated from Seton Hall University Law School and set up a law practice in his hometown of Englewood. In 2002, Gary was elected to the Englewood City Council, where he served for 10 years, the last two as Council President. During his tenure on the City Council, Gary worked hard to stabilize the tax rate and build a spirit of cooperation and bi-partisanship. In 2012, Gary was elected to the New Jersey General Assembly to represent the 36th Legislative District.read less
