Gary M. Carter Jr. is a native of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. He received his B.A. degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1973. After college, Gary joined the family business, Carter's Electrical Construction Co. He later formed his own small business. In 2015, Gary won a special election to the Louisiana State Senate. He currently serves on the Senate Commerce, Consumer Protection and International Affairs Committee and the Senate Environmental Quality Committee. Gary's priorities include workforce development, infrastructure, and education.read less
