Gale Brown Adcock was born in Cary, North Carolina. She earned her nursing degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1976. After beginning her nursing career on the pediatric cardiology unit of North Carolina Memorial Hospital, Adcock went on to hold patient care, leadership, and consulting positions at various healthcare facilities across North Carolina. She retired from healthcare in 2004 to become a full-time parent and community volunteer. Adcock won her first term in the North Carolina House of Representatives in 2012. She has served on committees dealing with health care, insurance, transportation, education, state personnel, and pensions over her tenure.read less
