Eric Allan Koch is the Commissioner of the New York City Department of Correction, where he oversees the management of the city's correctional facilities and reentrant services. Koch has over 30 years of correction experience. Prior to his appointment in 2014 by Mayor Bill de Blasio, Koch served as First Deputy Commissioner, overseeing all correctional facilities and leading the Department's anti-violence, anti-contraband, and anti-sexual abuse reforms. He successfully opened an 1,800 bed jail, three new clinic spaces, and reduced violence levels.read less
