Elizabeth May is the current leader of the Green Party of Canada and Member of Parliament for Saanich-Gulf Islands. She was born in the United States in 1954 but moved to Canada as a teenager. May has a long career as an environmentalist, author, activist and lawyer. She was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2005 for her contributions to environmentalism.
