Earle S. Banks was born in Virginia. He graduated from North Carolina A&T State University in 1967 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology. He served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve, retiring after 20 years at the rank of Major. Banks worked as an engineer at Westinghouse, Philip Morris USA, and Altria. He served on the Petersburg School Board from 1986 to 2006.read less
