Dwight Kiefert was born in Wishek, North Dakota. He earned his BA in business administration from Minot State University in 1985. After college, Kiefert returned home to farm and formed the family business Kiefert Brothers, LLC. In 2008 and 2016 Kiefert was elected to represent District 24 in the North Dakota House of Representatives. During his time in the state legislature, he served on various committees including Appropriations, Agriculture, Transportation, and Education. Kiefert focuses legislative efforts on agriculture, education funding, infrastructure, and economic development in rural communities.read less
