Dennis E. Johnson's political career began when he won election to the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2002, representing District 52B. He was reelected in 2004 and 2006. In 2008, Johnson challenged incumbent State Senator Betsy L. Wergin in Senate District 32 and defeated her in the general election. He won reelection in 2012. Johnson has worked as a realtor and served on the Prior Lake Economic Development Authority and the Burnsville Planning Commission.
