David E. Lucas is a former Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing the 3rd Congressional District of Kentucky. Lucas served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1994 to 1998. He then served in the Kentucky State Senate from 2000 to 2008. In 2008, Lucas was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. He served one term from 2009 to 2011 before being defeated for re-election by Republican John Yarmuth. Prior to entering politics, Lucas worked as an attorney. He earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Louisville.read less
