Dave Syverson was born in Rockford and graduated from West Leyden High School. He received an Associate Degree from Rock Valley College in 1972 and a Bachelor's Degree from Northern Illinois University in 1974. He was first elected to the Illinois Senate in 1992. Prior to serving in the Illinois Senate, Dave Syverson was Township Supervisor of Rockford Township from 1988 to 1992. He owned and operated Syverson Tree Farm from 1974 to 1988. Currently he manages the Syverson Group, a commercial property development company.read less
