Danica Roem is currently serving her first term as Delegate in Virginia's House of Delegates. She represents District 13. Roem studied journalism at St. Bonaventure University. Prior to her election, Roem worked as a journalist for nine years reporting on Virginia state politics. In 2017, Roem defeated Republican incumbent Robert Marshall, who had held the seat since 1992. Roem is the first openly transgender candidate elected and seated in a state legislature.read less
