Clyde Chambliss became active in Republican politics in the late 1990s. He worked on local, state, and national campaigns. He served as chairman of the Houston County Republican Executive Committee from 2004 to 2010. In 2010, Chambliss was elected to the Alabama State House. He was re-elected in 2014. In 2018, Chambliss was elected to the Alabama State Senate. Chambliss serves on several committees including the Confirmations, Finance and Taxation General Fund, and Fiscal Responsibility and Economic Development committees.
