Chris Kapenga is a businessman and a Republican member of the Wisconsin State Senate, representing District 33. Kapenga served in the United States Air Force for over 20 years before starting two successful businesses, Integrated Time Systems and Alternate Access. In 2010, Kapenga first ran for office, winning a seat as a Republican in the Wisconsin State Assembly. He served two terms before deciding to run for an open State Senate seat in 2014. Kapenga went on to win a heavily contested Republican primary and later the general election. He has been reelected twice. Kapenga serves as the Chair of the Senate Committee on Public Benefits, Licensing and State-Federal Relations. He also serves on several other committees, including Joint Finance and Senate Education. Outside the legislature, Kapenga continues to run his businesses in addition to operating a cranberry marsh.
