Cathy McMorris Rodgers was born May 22, 1969, in Salem, Oregon. She graduated from Pensacola Christian College in 1991 with a B.S. and worked for her family's small business. In 1994, Rodgers was elected to the Washington House of Representatives and served until 2004. In 2004, she was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives for Washington's 5th district, where she has served since 2005. She is currently the Chair of the House Republican Conference.
