Carrie Emerson Coyner has been active in politics since childhood. After graduating with a bachelor degree at Lynchburg College in 1989, she has had a career in banking, law, and fraud investigation. Coyner was elected to the Board of Supervisors in Chesterfield County in 2017 and won re-election in 2021.
