Benny Shendo is a member of the Pueblo of Jemez. He earned his BA in Education at Fort Lewis College. He was a teacher and basketball coach at several schools in New Mexico. Shendo served two terms in the NM House from 2013-2018. He served on several education committees. In 2018, Shendo won election to the NM Senate in District 22. He serves on committees such as Indian and Cultural Affairs and Rules.read less
